A little change is good for us, right?

When Shana and Brooks, natives of New York City, reached out to me about their wedding photography at Brick South in Portland, Maine… there was no way I was going to say no. It is a somewhat of a change from the woods and mountains and barn weddings that I usually photograph, but Brick South is a stunning venue and Shana and Brooks had an awesome vision for their wedding day.

Both Brooks and Shana have history in Maine, but they also wanted to incorporate a little of NYC into the wedding. The cocktail hour band and the reception band made the trip up from NY to play at the wedding. Brick South was chosen because of its urban and industrial feel.

After photographing Brooks getting ready at an Airbnb in Portland’s West End and Shana getting ready at a friend’s house, we met at Spring Point in South Portland for a private first look and family photos along the ocean. From there it was off to the venue.

The ceremony was held in one side of Brick South’s event space. A mutual friend was their officiant.

In addition to picking an awesome summer day to get married in Maine, Shana and Brooks also brought together an all-star vendor team to bring their vision to reality in the Brick South Space..

Halfway through the evening Shana changed out of her wedding dress in to something that was a little easier to dance in!

Thank you to the amazing vendor team that made this day possible, and huge especially to Shana and Brooks for having me a part of your special day.
