Adventure wedding photography, what does it mean?

adventure wedding photography

I offer adventurous wedding photography. What exactly does that mean? If you were to look on my website there is talk of climbing to the top of mountains and getting your wedding dress muddy. Google adventurous wedding photographer and you’ll get thousands of results with images of brides on the edge of the Grand Canyon or on some remote beach with their wedding dress blowing perfectly in the wind. That is a big part of what I do. I want to work with couples who work hard and play hard.

I’ll walk for three days into the backcountry with your minister if you want to elope deep in the desert of the Grand Canyon. I’ll incorporate the vast and grand landscape into your wedding pictures to evoke your love of nature. I’ll fly halfway around the world to get that perfect shot.

Remember, extreme sports and exotic locations aren’t everything. As much as I love a grand adventure as much as the next person (I lived in my car and drove around the country for six months) I’m also happy to photograph your intimate backyard wedding too, under one condition. Set your wedding apart from the others, make it unique.  As a wedding photographer who sees hundreds of weddings, things start to blend together after a while and adventurous can simply mean doing something small that will make your wedding memorable and different. Perhaps it means speaking up and letting me know about a crazy idea or pose you had. If it doesn’t work, thats fine… but at least we tried. Maybe it’s a specific location thats a little harder to get to, doing your first look a little differently, taking a short paddle in a canoe around the lake, starting a snowball fight or giving a funky gift that will get your fiancé on the floor laughing. The sky is the limit, just try to set your wedding apart from the masses somehow, don’t be afraid to think outside the box.

The bottom line is that adventure doesn’t always have to be grand and extreme. Adventure can be just stepping out of your comfort zone for a few moments to take your wedding a special day to an experience.
